Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 81 - Inspired by a song

For our Christmas Challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers we'd like to take inspiration from the song lyrics of 'Time In A Bottle' written and performed by Jim Croce.  You can find it on You Tube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO1rMeYnOmM.

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
Till Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

We thought it would make a nice change from the usual Christmas challenge.  Just have a look at the words and see what inspires you.  It could be just one line.  Or you could create something to show us what you would do if you could save time in a bottle and spend it doing your favourite thing, or with your best friend, lover, child etc. A scrapbook page of memories perhaps, or something more practical relating to time. You can choose one of the words in the lyrics and create a theme around it.

We are sponsored by our lovely teamie Kim Reygate. As Kim told me 'I have been lucky enough to work with some fantastic companies during this last year, both teaching and making samples and most of whom are represented in the prize, so I would be more than happy to donate them to Crafty Cardmakers', represented in the list are Clarity, HobbyArt, Sir Stampalot, Stampcraft and Woodware, some of whom will be sponsoring us in 2013, so watch this space!

The items in the prize are Items from the top of the photo

Well, the song did mention a bottle, so how could I resist.  I have made a label to go over a bottle of wine that I am giving a friend. I'm not sure if we can trap time in the bottle but I know we shall have a good time sharing it.
I started with some black card.  I cut a large and a small hole in it using Nestabilities and scored fold lines so it would fit nicely over the bottle.  Next I added a layer of brown card and finally the decorated cream card with my message on.  I used stamps from PaperArtsy (Clocks 4 and Crowns & Castles 3) that I stamped in Stampin' Up Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand.  The sentiment (from Crowns & Castles 3) is stamped in SU Early Expresso.  I also sponged round the edges to give it a bit of a distressed look.

Dream Valley Challenge 47 - Christmas

Our challenge at Dream Valley this week runs from 9th December right through to 6th January.  And of course our theme has to be Christmas.  We have a host of sponsors for this challenge, so come on and show us your Christmas themed projects.

I decided to do a parchment card.  This is a pattern from Mary G Kerr that was published in Parchment Magazine in Decembver 2010.  The green layer is actually green parchment that came free with an edition of Parchment Magazine.  Then I did the dove on a normal parchment layer
then attached both layers to a green card with brads.
