Dream Valley Challenge 37 - Summer

In honour of the sun's appearance, we are asking for SUMMER themed creations at Dream Valley this week.  We are being sponsored by the fabulous Squiggle Stamps who are offering 3 images to one lucky person.

For my card I got out my new Hobby Art stamps - Tuscan Countryside Scenes and the old Hillside Scene Its.  I created a beautiful Tuscan scene (just got back from visiting my son there) and watercoloured it with Koh-i-noor watercolours.  I then made a frame for it using Nestabilities Curved Rectangles.  The background paper is from American Traditional Designs Brights and I stamped the sentimnt (Stampscapes) directly onto this.  For a finishing touch I stamped out the Sunflowers and painted them before adding them with Foam squares to give them depth.

 

Dream Valley Challenge 36 - Anything but a square

This time at Dream Valley the challenge is Anything But a Square.  So what we want to see is a project with shape!  We have two fab sponsors too.  First we are sponsored by One Stop Card Crafts who are offering one lucky person a £10 voucher for their on-line store.  Secondly, the amazing Meljen's Designs are offering 4 images of their choice to one lucky person.

I decided to make a side-step card.  All the stamps I used are from the PaperArtsy Crowns and Castles range (sets 1, 3, 7 and 9).  The dark brown side-step card had a layer of kraft added to each section with bricks stamped on it.  Then I stamped the castle pieces in Versafine Onyx Black onto cream card and then cut them out, then added them to my card to give a castle effect.  I added colour to the castle using Derwent Drawing pencils.  The sentiment was stamped onto cream card and then matted and layered usng Nestabilities Labels Four.

 

 

Birthday Surprise

My talented daughter not only made my birthday card but also my present this year.

The bag was knitted and then felted by washing it.  It's large enough to hold my knitting projects.
