Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 64 - Time

The new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers this week is Time.  Time spent, time passing, time waiting.  In fact anything related to time.  We have two great sponsors for this challenge, first The Stampman who are offering a £10 voucher to one lucky winner.  Secondly, we have Di's Digi Downloads who are offering a $10 voucher. 

I had a lot of fun with this challenge.  Ages and ages ago I bought a CD clock kit with the intention of making a clock for my Craft Room.  My first intention was to make the clock up using the CD but the hands were too big and I didn't want to cut them.  So I found a cheap artist's pallette I had also bought ages and ages ago (yep, I've got loads of stash, lol) and first painted it with white acrylic paint, then with blue.  Then I wiped off some of the blue with a wet baby wipe.  Next I stamped some shells from Personal Impressions in Gold Encore ink directly onto the Pallette.  For the clock section I used Crafty Individuals paper from Book 6 - The Seaside and some navy card.  I cut it into circles using a very old set of X-Cut shape cutters as my Nestabilities were not big enough.  I die cut some starfish, sand dollars and shells using a Cuttlebug die (From the Sea) and added gold numbers (cut with an X-Cut alphabet).  I added a gear wheel (Tim Holtz Alterations Dies Gadget Gears) to the centre before adding the hands.  Next I decorated the rest of the Pallette. I used images from Crafty Individuals Miniatures People and Places and a stamped sentiment from Stampin' Up (Sense of Time) in SU Night of Navy cut and matted with nesties.  I added a few more die cuts from the Cuttlebug set and lastly lots of shells and a starfish.  And YAY it actually works and keeps time. 

Dream Valley Challenge 28 -Easter

This week we have an Easter challenge at Dream Valley.  You can enter any Easter project you like, it doesn't have to be a card.  We have two fab sponsors this time.  First up we have Meljen's Designs who are offering one lucky winner 4 digis of their choice.  Secondly, Mulberry Crafts UK are offering another lucky winner a goody bag.

I decided to make an Easter card using a stamp by Indigoblu that was free with Craft Stamper.  I stampedit in Versafine Onxy Black onto green card and then cut it out and matted it using oval nesties.  The sentiment was stamped on the same card (from Hero Arts Special Messages set) and cut and matted using circle and scallop circle nesties.  My lovely backing paper is from a favourite pad - K&Co Tim Coffey Daisy.  Then I got out my flower punches and made the flowers to go round the oval.  I used EK Success Retro flower for the buttercups and added centres using Doodlebug crushed velvet flock in bumblebee.  For the daisies I used a Woodware Daisy punch, layering two flowers on top of each other and then Doodlebug crushed velvet card in bumblebee for the centre punched using an ordinary paper punch.  The leaves are punched with my broken McGill pin punch that is currently held together with an elastic band.  Finally I made a little flower for the sentiment using a Woodware Multi Sunflower punch.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 63 - A Sketch

This week we have been set a sketch by Susie at Crafty Cardmakers.  You can create any item you like so long as it follows Susie's sketch.  We have two lovely sponsors this week - One Stop Card Craft who are offering a £10 voucher and Digi Doodle Shop who are offering a $10 voucher.

I decided to get out my CDs as I haven't used them for ages.  I chose the lovely  bird image from Jayne Netley Mayhew's Collection, printed it out and cut and framed it using oval nesties.  I then matted it onto a green die cut (Nesties Labels Four).  The lovely primrose bg paper is also from the same CD.  For the sentiment I used Stampin' Up Oval Alls in SU Always Artichoke and punched it out with an oval SU punch, then mounted it onto a smaller Labels Four die cut.  The leaves under my pretty flowers is from the SU Two Step Bird punch.

Dream Valley Challenge 27 - Mother's Day/Female

This week we are celebrating mother's at Dream Valley Challenge Blog.  As Mother's Day is celebrated on different days in different parts of the year, we are asking you to create something female themed.  We have two fab sponsors this week.  One Stop Card Craft are offering a £10 voucher and Crafty Ribbons are offering a bargain bag of ribbons.

I've gone all pink for my card for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day.  And for once I haven't used any stamping at all.  All the papers, including the vellum, was free from Making Cards magazine ages ago and is designed by Nancy Watts.  I used a Geo Punch (Daisy) to decorate the pink card and square and scalloped square nesties.  The sentiment was computer generated.

This wordy stamp is one of my favourites.  I stamped it onto cream card with Stampin' Up Night of Navy and cut and matted it using Oval Nestabilities.  The bg paper is from an old pad by K&Co - Garden collage.  I one of the flowers from SU's Simply Soft in Night of Navy onto cream card and matted onto navy.  I also embossed the flowers from Cuttlebug With Love set onto pale blue card and again matted onto navy.  To finish off I added 3 blue pearls.

Another Year

I've only had this stamp a couple of weeks and WOW I've inked it already, lol.  I have been wanting a Stampotique image for ages and got this lovely one.  She is inked with Versamark Onxy Black and I've paper-pieced her blouse with the bg paper and hand-drew lines around the edges.  For my background I used some paper I had painted with Magnolia Magenta Gold Starburst stains and then stamped a cupcake stamp (free with Craft Stamper ages ago) and circles from Hero Arts Circular Designs in Stampin' Up Basic Black, Perfect Plum and Bravo Burgundy.  I kept one side clear and stamped Another Year using some old CD Outline alphabet stamps, adding drawn lines.  I'd like to enter this into the Stampotique Purple/Pink with Black challenge.

Fishing at Fifty

It's a friend's birthday and as he is mad on fishing I got out my fishing stamps again.   This is a really old set from CDs called Fish Tails.  It's so old the stamps are beginning to curl up - I can see I shall have to look for some new fishing stamps.  I stamped the rod and sentiment (Amy R Birthday Sentiments) in Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip onto cream card and mounted it onto blue.  Then I popped this onto kraft card that I had run partly through my cuttlebug using Tim Holtz Texture Fades Retro Circles and stamped some cute fish (SU Crumb Cake) along the bottom.  The 50 was cut using an old set of dies from XCut Impress and mounted onto a cream circle.  Finally I added 3 little buttons.
