Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 72 - Olympic Spirit

In honour of the Olympics  being held in the UK we'd like to see some sport inspired creations at Crafty Cardmakers. Any sport will do but it would be brilliant if there were some sports that are competed at the Olympics (including the Winter Olympic) games.  We are sponsored by the fab Di's Digi Downloads who are offering a $10 voucher and also by Hobby Art who are offering two fabulous stamp (sentiments clear set and Butterfly Kisses Nautical set) sets to one lucky person.

I decided to make a set of ATCs in a wallet.  I used postage stamps that depicted Gold, Silver and Bronze from Montreal 1976 Olympics.

I'd like to enter my project into the following challenges:
Craft Your Days Away - Olympic Dreams
Pixie Dust Studios - Gold
S J Crafts - The Olympics

Dream Valley 38 - Punches and Dies

This week at Dream Valley our challenge is to use punches and/or dies on your creation.  We have some wonderful examples from the DT so please go check them out.  We have two great sponsors for this challenge.  First we have a £10 voucher from One Stop Card Crafts, and our second sponsor is Inked Treasures who are offering 4 images as a prize

I decided to get out my ancient X-Cut Impress Alphabet dies and created the words Happy Birthday using DP from American Traditional Designs in Pastel.  These were stuck down onto pink card cut using Nestabilities Labels Four.  I die cut another matt of card using the same die in cream, adding some lovely polka dot ribbon inbetween.  The bg paper is from the same pack of paper.  The little flowers were punched from pink card and DP using a Woodware Daisy punch and an EK Success Retro Flower punch, and then giving them pastel brad centres.  Finally I added the cute little dog from Penny Black Critter Party set, stamped in Stampin' Up Early Expresso and then watercoloured using Whispers Pens.
I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:
Delightful Challenges - Birthdays
DRS Designs - Dogs
Diva's By Design - Flowers
Crazy Amigo Challenge - Dies and Punches
Kaboodle Doodles - Birthday or Special Day
Challenge Up Your Life - Everything goes

Playing with Parchment

My first piece of parchment is a design I make up myself.  I needed to make a tri-fold card for a swap so inspired by the beautiful summer weather (!!!) we have been having I drew umbrellas on each section of the card.  I coloured behind each one with Whispers Pens and then added a different gridwork pattern to them using both straight and diagonal grids.  Raindrops were added under theumbrellas.  Along the bottom of the card I added a row of flowers using a Siesta Grid (SPL016L).

I enjoyed making one of my favourite book mark designs, although I altered the design slightly by making it rectangular instead of cutting out around the flowers.  It's from the Pergamano Parchment Craft book by Martha Ospina.  I traced it in gold for the borders and white pencil for the remainder.  Then it was coloured on the reverse with Whispers Pens, gently spread with a damp paintbrush.  After the embossing the gridwork was done on a large straight grid.

Gone Fishing

I decided to have a play with my little Edwin Fishing stamp.  I stamped him onto watercolour paper and painted him using Whispers pens scribbled on an old tile.  He was then cut out and mounted using Square Nestabilities.  For my background papers I used PaperMania Sweet Nothings.  The blue was for the main bg and I ran a piece of the large spots through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine swirls embossing folder.  The small spot paper was cut out and mounted using little circle Nestabilities and the sentiment came from Hero Arts Special Messages.  I also made a little companion card using a Penny Black Cat which can be used as a matching gift tag.
