Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 60 - Beads

It was my turn to set the challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers this week so I decided that I would like to see beads used.  The project can be made using just beads or using them as an embellishment.  The important thing is that the beads are there for all to see.
We have two fab sponsors this week.  First up is The Stamp Man who are offeringa £10 voucher for their on-line store.  Secondly we have Di's Digi Downloads, who are offering a $10 gift voucher.

My project is a necklace that I made for my beautiful daughter-in-law as a Christmas present.  I used pearl beads as I happened to have a few (gross understatement here, lol) in my stash and this gorgeous leaf toggle.  I used 3 different sizes of pearls and between the largest ones I put sparkly rondelles.  To show off the toggle I decided to  make the necklace asymmetric.  I was pleased with how this turned out and my DiL was thrilled too.

My goodness, what an elegant necklace this is! The leaf toggle is so pretty (it reminds me of the Elven leaf brooches given by Galadriel in 'The Fellowship of the Ring' - if you're not a Tolkien fan, be assured that all that witter boils down to - I love it!!)

That is gorgeous! Now you see, I think beading like this is far harder than using a bead loom, so I am seriously impressed at how professionally finished it looks!

Hi Jack!! :)
This is just gorgeous- I love pearls and that is a stunning colour which will look amazing with just about anything!! :)
Thank you for your comment letting me know you make jewellery the other week... I should have known that but my following gizmo's been playing up and any blog I've followed since about mid-November hasn't been showing up in my reading list... but think I've worked out how to fix it now (by un-following and re-following all the blogs in that time... it's taking me a while to get through them all!! :S). Anyway, I had a look back through your jewellery posts and really like your style- looking forward to seeing more now!! :)
hugs, Rachel x
